CLL20 (NEW)

RAISING THE BAR FOR CLEARFIELD GRAIN QUALITY.

CLL20 is a long grain Clearfield® variety developed by the LSU AgCenter. It produces low-chalk, clean grain built for premium-quality markets, carries the Pi-ta blast-resistance gene and reaches 50% heading in about 80 days. In trials, CLL20 delivered higher whole grain yields than CLL18 and higher second-crop yields than both CLL18 and CLL19, giving growers a Clearfield option that holds up at the mill.

  • This variety has genetic markers for Pi-ta, which confers resistance to the following blast races: 1A45, 1B1, 1B49, 1B54, 1B45, 1H1, 1G1, IC17.

*Reactions may differ due to variability of strains among pathogens.

  • 1 Height will vary with plant density and environmental conditions.
  • 2 Seed/lb is not an exact number; it is an average from multiple samples harvested over a wide geography.
  • 3 Seeding rate is a suggestion based on drill-seeding in ideal conditions and fungicide/insecticide treated seed. Planting non-treated seed is not recommended. Seeding rate should be increased by a minimum of 10 lbs/A when using non-treated seed, planting into a rough seedbed, water-seeding or when using on high pH soils or soils with salinity issues.
  • 4 Nitrogen rate is a suggested rate based on a two-way split nitrogen application with the first application being applied on dry soil.
